Will a change in routine lead to supply issues?

DD is 5 months old and we've been struggling with sleep problems. This stems from her cluster feeding days when she would feed for hours before eventually going to bed at 11 pm or later.
She no longer cluster feeds but has a good hour long feed and then refuses to sleep. She has a bottle of high calorie formula every night too due to poor weight gain because of a heart condition and we've been struggling to get this in to her a, because she isn't hungry enough after bf and b, she is too tired.

We decided to try a different routine last night and offered the bottle after her bath instead of breast and she drank 6oz and was asleep in bed by 8.30. Result! I expressed in replacement of feed and went to bed. She then fed at 1.30 and 6am but this morning I have woken engorged and in pain with blocked ducts.

Although I'm pleased we seem to have sorted the bedtime out I'm concerned that missing that hour long feed session will effect my supply. Also I'm sad because it was my favourite feed of the day and I've fought tooth and nail to get bf to work.

Will my supply adjust without being compromised? I'm scared it'll cause problems but we were at the end of our tethers with the sleep issues and also the fact that she needs to have that bottle for weight reasons and was taking less and less due to tiredness.

Gah! Bit of a brain dump there sorry!

If she needs that bottle have you considered giving it at a different time of day? If you would prefer to keep that bedtime breast feed.
The going to sleep mite have just been a coincidence or a one off.

At 5 months you should be able to miss this feed and not have a problem with supply.

Thank you for replying.
Unfortunately it's 2 bottles a day we're supposed to give her so she has another one mid morning. This one is even more of a faff because I'm usually on my own with a busy 2 yr old trying to get her to take a couple of ounces and then expressing as well. I'm hoping to use this feed for mixing with food when we start weaning in a few weeks time because it's so hard to give it.

Tonight she's gone to bed again. I'm full to bursting and still have a painful lump in one breast. I'm expressing as much as poss and will try and wake her slightly to dream feed at 11 ish.

Thank you for you reassurance!
