My lo is 3 weeks old. She has neen a great feeder pretty much every 3 hours (ebf) and is gaining weight nicely Yesterday and Friday she fed all day and could not get enough! She fed like normal at half 3 this morning but then has gone all strange...she made all the feed me noises at 5,6 and 7 but doesnt want to feed? She just wants a cuddle and then falls straight to sleep on me. I have managed to get her to feed for 5 mins just now but she is now asleep on my chest ( she wakes up and cries when I put her back down).

Does the non feeding sound normal? Should I call the doctor? Yes I am an anxious first timer!

Thank you
Frog

So, she seemed to be having a bit of a feeding frenzy on Friday and Saturday, but now she's off her milk?

Does she seem warm, or floppy, or in any way unusual?

Going from 330am to 830am isn't that long. Is a 5 minute feed normal for her? Do you have any other concerns about her health, or yours?

No she seems fine, just sleepy. Complete frenzy over the last 2 days but seems ok otherwise as am I.

Do you think she could just be full up? She normally feeds for 10-15 minutes?

Five minutes isn't that much less than her normal feed, then. Sorry, I'm not on here that often. But none of what you're saying sounds alarming to me.

How has she been today?

It does sound like normal behaviour for a young baby. Perhaps she was having a growth spurt and needed the extra milk for those few days ... perhaps she is feeling in need of extra security and closeness ... who knows. You think you have them sussed and then everything changes again!

The best thing you can do for her is just go with it - she knows what she is doing, even if doesn't seem to make much sense Smile
