Stopping dream feed

DD is coming up 9mo and is bf morning (6:00am), mid afternoon (3:00pm) at bedtime (7:00) and a dream feed (10:30pm). She has breakfast, a mid-morning snack, lunch and dinner. As I write this I'm thinking it sounds like a heck of a lot and I'm surprised she's not a real chunk!!

Can anyone tell me when they stopped their dream feed? And whether you just stopped or 'weaned' them off? We stopped feeding during the night at about 7 1/2 mo quite easily.

Ta!

My dd is 10 months and still having a dream feed. She has milk at 6.30 am, 10am, 2pm, 7pm and 10.30pm plus 3 meals!

She sometimes only has about 3oz mid morning and afternoon though so I don't think she'll be having enough milk if I drop the dream feed. She always has loads at 10.30pm so I think I'll being doing it for a while yet :)

Can't remember ! Grin

But I would say if she's happily asleep at 10.30 night leave her to sleep. If you find she's waking during the night then make her last bottle a little later.

Good luck!

She's been teething (got bottom two AND top two within 3 days) so we had 2 nights of HELL a few days ago. So much so that I decided to go to bed myself at 8pm on the second night. I therefore missed the dream feed. I know the sucking action can make the gums more sore so figured I'd wait and see if she woke and I could calpol dose and feed then. She didn't! She slept 7-5:30 like usual.

Then last night I dream fed her. Guess I'm too nervous to stop. For sone reason I'm finding it harder to get up in the night now. Was ok when she was small as I guess id gotten into the zone of no sleep but since she's been sleeping through if I have to get up even once it's soooo tough!

I need to 'man' up and give it a whirl eh?!

Thanks for the advice/comments
