Sorry if it's been asked a million times. Last time I found expressing impossible (avent handpump). And found the hospitasl one far too strong!
So plan to buy an electric one. The medela swing looks gentler on the boob that the mini-electric (softer boob - bit! And the avent isis iq also looks like it has more compfortable. Any experiences or advice? I will only bf for 4 months max but plan to try and express everyday.

I couldn't use the Avent hand pump either. I have a madela mini electric which is great and very comfy. HTH

I used the Medela Mini & it was excellent & very easy to use. I expressed everyday - more at the beginning. I would thoroughly recommend it.

I used the Medela mini too and really liked it. Used it everyday for six months. Also you can buy spare parts really cheaply if anything breaks (I dropped a bit and it cracked!)

I love my Isis IQ duoand found it much more gentle than the Medela Symphony I used in hospital when ds3 was in SCBU. But it is very expensive. I used it at work every day but think it might be overkill for a bit of extra pumping at home.

meant to say as well, Loads of MNers used the Ameda Lactaline and seem to have found it fab and its a third the price of the Isis IQ duo.

i use a lactaline everyday. the speed and suctions are independently adjustable. it is 2x the price of a medela mini-elec (which I used first but also 2x superior to it) v. good resale as well on ebay which the mini-elec is not. my original lactaline had a slight fault (a loose electrical connection) and the service from the manufacturer was impeccable.

I agree with kiskidee. I exclusively express and have done so for 9 mths. I went through 2 Medela Minis in 3 weeks - apparently I overused them accordingly to Mothercare (don't understand how I could, surely that was the point?) and have an Avent handpump for when I'm out & about and a Lactaline for home & work. The Lactaline is great - quick, quiet and the service from their Customer Services is fantastic. It's much much quieter than the Medela Mini and is a double pump. Hope that helps. Off to bed now...
