I just wonder whether let down needs to happen during EVERY feeding? when I wake up my breasts are very soft and when baby feeds I someties cannot feel let down - is it normal?

my baby often fusses after few minutes of feeding - I do not have oversupply so I just wonder whether he waits of let down and it is not there?

Not every women feels the let down and its certainly normal not to feel it everytime you feed. Soft breast are a sign your adjusting to your babys demands. A women with a well established milk supply doesn't get that full then soft feeling you get in the early weeks. Also the emptyer the breast feels when you are feeding the more milk you are making. The only time milk production stops is when you feel very full.

My baby feeds 5 min then stops and I now feel that I do not have as much milk as before - today at 7.pm I wanted to check whether my milk flow - I started pumping and for 6 min NOTHINg came out,,,
shall I start pumping after the baby has finished his 5 min feed?

You don't say how old your baby is - it's NORMAL for breasts to stop getting engorged and feeling 'full' when your supply settles down to more regular feeding.

It's also NORMAL for some babies to feed quickly. Some are simply more efficient than others and can transfer a lot of milk quickly, others are 'snack feeders' and prefer little and often.

Pumping is absolutely no reflection of what your baby is getting. Nothing is more efficient than a baby at drawing milk from a breast. Some women don't get a drop by pumping. Have you tried hand expression at all? (if it will put your mind at ease to see something come out!)

The best way to check your baby is thriving is to look at him. Is he happy and alert when awake? Does he have lots of wet and dirty nappies? Is he pink and well proportioned? If the answer to those is yes, then he's fiiiiiiiine!

music, am getting confused....on your other thread you say your baby cries and punches you after 5 mins. If it's just he stops, and fusses when you try to make him take more, then all could be well.

Please don't use expressing as a guage of anything - it doesn't really give good info :)

Not feeling let down and feeling breasts are soft and baby taking less time each feed is all normal beyond newborn period - is your baby gaining weight ok?

tiktok, yes baby stops the feeding. I will go to clinic on Friday to check his weight. he was OK last week...
