Hello, does anyone know if the 'lovely parents room' mentioned in this thread www.mumsnet.com/Talk/breast_and_bottle_feeding/385452-lovely-parent-s-room-in-john-lewis-oxford-circus-london/AllOnOnePage#add_message 5 years ago is still there and still lovely? I need to express whilst out and about on Saturday and wonder if it will be a suitablep place to do it. Thanks for any help.

Haven't read the thread but there is a parents room in John Lewis. Actually two. The bigger one is on the top floor, near the loos, near the cafe. The smaller one is near the pushchairs and car seats on a lower floor. Don't know that floor off the top of my head.

Looks like it still exists! www.johnlewis.com/Shops/DSFacilities.aspx?Type=DSS&Id=23

Or you could try Mamas and Papas on the Regent Street, Mothercare on Oxford Street but nearer the Marble Arch end or Selfridges. All of these stores have facilities. Happy expressing!

Yes it's there. I second the recommendation of mamas and papas though as you'll get a little room to yourself which you might prefer for expressing. The John Lewis one is for multiple people.

Thank you very much everyone. I do feel slightly nervous about expressing in public, but hopefully I would only meet lovely understanding people in parents rooms.

Hi meme

I was in there yesterday - fourth floor - expressing on my first day back at wor whilst ut and about at meetings - also my first public express.

It has 2 cubicle areas with curtains that are separate and have tables, chairs and an armchair in them so you can get privacy.

One thing - make sure your pump is battery operated and has batteries in it or is a manual as I couldnt spot a plug socket.

Good luck and try not to buy anything on the way through - so many lovely things to resist :)

The one on the fifth floor is only signed from downstairs as 'toilets' so tends to be empty and is much more spacious. No windows though. But I'm pretty sure there's plug sockets.
The fourth floor one has a long thin room for breastfeeding so you can feel a bit like on a production line in the row of chairs, and sometimes can't get a seat, but if there's only a couple of you in there it's nice.

Mothercare on Oxford St usually has the loos/rooms shut because of vandalism/floods/being used for storage/it's Tuesday.

Selfridges have a 'mother and baby' room - up and down small flights of stairs! Not great if you have a pushchair. I ended up feeding ds on some lovely sofas designed for gardens, looked at the price tag, and just prayed I wouldn't get milk on them...
