ds 13 days old, not gaining weight, cluster feeding tonight and no milk coming...

Hi (again). DS has been feeding since 420 and I feel completely empty now. He wants to latch on , nothing comes and then he either falls asleep, wakes up shortly after and then wants to go back on again. It is making me very upset as I can't bare the thought of him feeling hungry and not being able to satisfy him. Have been told latch/psn etc all ok. Just phoned del suite for support and MW suggested giving formula. Was very surprised about this. What would you do? He has fed quite well through the night last night and the day today - I know he has had plenty of my milk today. Hoping this is not the beginning of the end of BF :(

softly sorry tp hear that. i too had sim probs with ds1. how did you get on at clinic? 1 oz below doesn't sound like much to me - my hv said some babies just take a bit longer to get established. have you tried breast compressions or switch nursing? i have found nct helpline fab perhaps would be worth calling.

my ds was weighed today and has gained 4.5 oz (since mon). afterwards he cried pretty much for an hour (scary !) then dod a huge poo !! it took him 8 days tho ! thank you again for your help.
