Tin of Nestle baby cereal displayed with baby milks is this ok?

Before this turns into a crazy debate, this thread is NOT about anti-formula or anything of the like, just asking if anyone knows the rules on this.

Our local Tesco has a new product Nestle 'Cerelac' I think, which is in a tin, looks like formula, cheaper than formula, and is displayed with the formulas, in fact next to the first milks. This product is a cereal and it says not on the tin for 12mth+ (I think maybe becuase it is honey flavoured???). Is this ok? It seems misleading to customers and I can easily imagine someone mistakenly buying it thinking it is formula, which obviously would not be safe for the baby. I had a look at the tin and it really wasn't all that clear on who/what it was for - took me a while to spot the 12mth thing and if someone was in a rush etc they could easily miss this.

I have my own issues with Nestle, but this isn't an anti Nestle thread, just wondering if there is any legislation regarding formula milk displays, as this is a safety issue. Surely it should be with the baby rice/porrdge etc.

Anyone?

I do but I don't see what the problem is.
I will sound nasty but it sounds like you have too much time on your hands.

I don't think you have too much time on your hands Hmm if everyone ignored what the formula companies did then they'd get away with a lot more than they do now.

In this case I don't know what would be best- maybe emailing Tesco and suggest they move it? Perhaps they were confused about where to put it if it's a new product.

I think this is quite a common product in other parts of the world though not really used here. Most people buying infant milk would have a good look at the tin first if it wasn't one they usually bought and would realise it's not milk.

Thanks for that eau. I was thinking I maybe need to get a new hobby. Working full time and having a 19mo obviously isn't enough for me!

I have emailed them.
