leaking - for how long?

My DD is 1 next week. When I breastfeed her I still leak from one side. I'm starting work next week and I'm a bit concerned about it happening there. Is this likely to last for the entire duration of BF? (I don't wear bras and don't want to start now just for pads.)

If it only happens when you bf, it shouldn't happen at work? Unless you're breastfeeding there.

There are some interesting-looking stick-on pads to catch leaks, that don't use glue ... I've not used them though. They would work without a bra, and look like they'd be pretty subtle.

It does sound likely I'm afraid, I find the longer I go between feeds/pumps the more likely it is that one side will leak a bit, breasts like routine, and if they were going to stop leaking I would think it would be when your babies routine kicks in (a few months in at the latest).... All I can think of really is wearing dark coloured tops and or cardigans, if only to make you feel more secure...

Someone might say different though!

That's true NQC, it's the stimulation of one side causing the other to leak, mine only leak when I'm 'using' the other one.

I leak a bit if I don't feed her for a long time. Good idea about the cardis, the way it's hailing/snowing here i'll be using them for quite a while. My only attempt at wearing breastpads ended in my collecting them off the pavement.

Here . They're called lilypadz. They stick on, so you don't need to be wearing a bra for them to work. They're washable + reusable, too, so you only need one pair.

I have a pair of lilypadz. They're pretty good. I only find them a problem when I'm feeding, so while you're at work they should hold up. I do have terribly leaky boobs though. God knows whats going to happen when I go back to work next month (my DD will be five 1/2 months).

Thanks for the link, NQC. They look like suckers! I'll see how it goes the first week and maybe I'll get some.

I also do not wear bras but I use breast pads all the time, dd is only 8 weeks. I wear singlets (from the underwear section) that hug the body - super comfy too. I am in the middle of summer in Queensland, Australia so I often only need one of these with another sleeveless top over that. I don't even need the adhesive strip and have no dramas with them falling out. I would hate to restrict my breasts with an uncomfortable bra, especially when they are doing such a great job making that wonderful, beautiful, precious milk.
