Thrush - gel to rub on nipples?

My 1 week old has thrush on her tongue, I have got Nystatin drops to give her 4 times a day. The GP has also prescribed Daktarin oral gel for me to rub on my nipples, I understand why, but it us really sticky and stinks of orange and my breastpads get so stuck to my nipples it hurts to peel them off.
Does anyone know of an alternative treatment I could ask my GP for, for me?
Thank you in advance

I was given daktarin ointment. It absorbed fairly and wasn't sticky but you need to wipe it off before feeding.

Maybe someone knows better but that prescription makes no sense to me - it's two medicines to treat lo and nothing to treat you. The doctor should give you a cream for your nipples (daktarin or clotrimazole) and only one or other of the oral meds for baby. Most people seem to find daktarin most effective for baby but doctors are often reluctant to prescribe it for such a young baby. Good luck getting rid, thrush is nasty.

Thank you, you've very eloquently put what I think I was trying to say! I dont think I am being treated and I'm getting more and more sore. I think I might phone my GP again and ask for something different. Thank you for your replies
