Feeding to sleep and winding

I was wondering if someone had the same problem... DD is now almost 10 weeks and EBF. She is feeding well and never brings up any milk after a feed. However, in the last weeks or so she started getting trapped wind which is distressing her (and me tbh) . I've become vigilant about winding after each feed now, but she feeds for comfort and to sleep a lot. I dont want to wake her up to wind her, but at the same time I'm worried she'll be paying the price later if I don't!

Can you gently prop her up on your shoulder and rub her back without waking her?

Unfortunately, she is not easily winded, esp when she's not done a full on feed... she normally needs the over the shoulder, walking around routine even with Infacol!

I've never actively winded my daughter after a feed but she went through a phase of sometimes waking 20mins after feeding to sleep grunting. I'd pick her up and she'd burp. One night I was knackered so thought I'd just leave her for 5 more minutes and pick her up when she was cusping on crying. I fell back to sleep and so did she. From then on, I left her to see if she could sort it herself and 8/10 times she did. Sometimes it would backfire though and I'd end up with a very awake baby. Sometimes it's so hard to know what to do for the best. Have you tried propping her cot up at one end?

I have a similar issue with dd who is 11 weeks. putting her down straight after a feed always ends in disaster. I now always sit her up on my lap for at least 20-30 mins if she falls asleep on the breast and do pating a joggling as she will generally sleep through this. I also put her to sleep on a wedge pillow at night.

Thanks for the tip about propping her up! We tend to feed lying down (the only position comfortable for both of us) and we invariably end up sleeping together in bed or on the sofa... Need to get her to sleep in her Moses basket!
