Anyone know what I can take whilst bf? Really suffering and desperate to crack open the Piriton. Help!

I'm taking loratadine (not licensed for bf mums but GP prescribed it anyway), also beconase nasal spray which works really well for me.

If you get free prescriptions (baby under 1) then go to GP for the works (can get eye drops too)

I asked my doctor about this recently and sin said you can take anything you like for hayfever whilst breastfeeding?

ds 10 has terrible hayfever. his eyes swell up and as soon as he opens his eyes in the morning he cant stop sneezing. it was so hard to bear. alast summer a friend gave me a tube of vitamin D3 spray. i spray it five times in each side of the mouth so it goes straight in to his system. it completely stops all the symptons instantly. it can get bad again about 5pm and after a couple of sprays hes fine. it has made the summer enjoyable for him whereas he really was unable to go out some days last year before we started using it.

what made it worse for us was anything he took like piriton gave him an instant headache.

Haymax ointment worked for me when pg and DH uses it a lot. It is like Vaseline, you rub it below your nose and it traps pollen and dust molecules. From Boots and health food shops.

Just to second bikerunski's advice. Haymax is brilliant. DH now swears by it and carries it everywhere with him having rejected all medication as 'doggo'. He is the person I know least likely to use anything 'complimentary' so it must be good stuff.

My DH is like Pasta's and laughs in the face of complimentary therapies usually, so indeed Haymax must be good.
