Shared nursing, wet nurse, milk donor?? Please help - genuine not a troll!

Please don't flame as this is a genuine request. Due to hormonal problems my milk supply has almost become non existent at nine weeks. I've tried everything to increase it at no avail. I've had to put my little girl on formula supplements but her reaction is showing a serious allergic response. Nutramigen has been suggested but the risk of endocrine problems later and devlopmental delay on the formula is terrifying.

I would do anything to keep her on breast milk. Does anyone know of a shared nursing network, 'wet nurse' or anyone/ any organisation that would donate or sell milk?? I would be willing to help look after other children and/or pay. Milk banks only provide to NICU so that's out of the question for us. I've spoken to the national breastfeeding helpline but they're not allowed to reccomend.

I am aware of the potential risks but the balance of options I'm prepared to take it.

Please help if you can.

I think its great that you want to continue to bf your dc, but I just wondered why you thought that nutramigen caused developmental delay? It's not something I ever heard of, and couldn't find any info when I searched.

Op I'm curious as to why you haven't replied to my question? I'm just asking because the many pediatricians I saw never mentioned any of the side effects you listed of nutramigen.

Don't blame the NHS for not providing donated breast milk. Although donated milk sounds OK, it's very variable and needs to be pasteurised to be sure its not going to transmit infection. Your own milk is suited to your baby, someone else's may not be. Just as blood from one person isn't necessarily suited to everyone else. There just hasn't been the research to compare the only options to Mum's milk, donated breast milk and formula - I know, I've looked into this. The NHS has a duty to provide proven products - we'd all rightly complain if it didn't.
