DD is 6mo and EBF. I have just put her to bed and was 'bitten' 5 times by her rock hard gums. I'm ashamed to say I lost my rag in the end when she clamped her gums and wouldn't let go. I cried out in pain and went and got the expressed milk that I was saving for when I'm out tomorrow. Numerous attempts to put her back on the breast were met with crying (her, not me this time!) and she drank the bottle instead. It contained 8oz so she must have been hungry.
The bottle is new as she's only started accepting it from me in the past few weeks. Is the biting a sign that she prefers the bottle?
I've started weaning her and it's going great so I guess it wouldn't be the worst news if I moved her to bottle feeding but I would like to continue breastfeeding for another few months really.
I've tried saying no and it doesn't work.
Do you think this is just a phase? I'm worried it will get worse when her teeth come through. Could it be a sign of teething? Poor thing has a rotten cold which I've read can be an indicator of teething.
