change in feeding pattern - how long do boobs take adjust?

DD is 19wks and EBF. We're going through what I think is sleep regression/developmental changes and now wakes once a night to feed where previously she slept through. I think this is because she has become very distractable whilst feeding in the day. If I'm out and about she'll feed for about 5 minutes before she's craning her neck to see what's going on around her. Then about 20-30 minutes later she will have another 5mins and so on until we're home and I can feed her keeping distractions to a minimum. This afternoon I'd fed her from my left boob at home, she had a 2hr nap and then we went to a friend's. We were there 2hrs and I fed her 4 times, for about 5mins each time off the right side. Normally I switch religiously but she wasn't taking the full feed in one go and it's the less squirty of the two boobs so decided to stick to it. When I got home the left side was feeling very full and hurting a bit, she fed fully off it when I got home. I just wonder how long it takes your boobs to adapt to a different feeding pattern at this stage? My boobs are getting full very quickly because aside from the distraction, she just doesn't seem to feed as frequently. Sorry this is so long, on my phone so can't review what I've written, aware am waffling

As far as I remember if you make a consistent change it will probably be a couple of days.
DS did this but when he was older - nearer the 7m mark I think. If i knew we'd be out I started to take a bottle of expressed milk so I didn't have to deal with the fussing and pulling.

Thanks. I don't really express, have only done it 3 times during the last fortnight, and they were really just practice. After today I might try and make sure when I'm out to only feed her on the less squirty side. She's less fussy on that side because she doesn't have to pull off so often to deal with the fast letdown and I get less stressed because milk isn't spraying all over the place. Just have to hope boobs adapt quickly, and also that she's getting enough because she's only waking once at night to compensate and her non-distracted feeds are still taking 15 minutes so I don't think she's suddenly become more efficient.
