Sick of milk spurting everywhere!

Help, I fear I have an oversupply issue! Dd is 7.5weeks ebf and for the last week or so I seem to have waaaay too much milk. Every night I end up leaking on both sides, can't sleep on my side it soaks the bed, the other day it kept spurting out as I walked to the loo in the night etc etc. all day my boobs feel heavy, she does empty them but they fill up and I get keen for her to feed again, and it all gets tingly, hard and painful. I'm trying to ride it out as I figure it should regulate itself but I'm sick of being covered in milk. And scrapped breast pads cos I'm sick of soaking circles of material stuck to me. It's all too much!

I had this with DS1. It was a nightmare. I used www.lansinoh.com/products/disposable-nursing-pads
Nothing else was effective. It did all seem to slow down by week 12 and the supply/demand thing sorted itself out, which probably seems like a lifetime away at the moment. I remember referring to Kellymom, it has a fantastic search function for any questions you may have.

With DS2 I didn't actually use breast pads at all.

Dd is 8.6wk n I'm still spurting milk everywhere. Dd got it right on her forehead this morning. Just having to put up with it. Bf support said 3-4 months it should settle. Not what I wanted to hear but that's just the way it is.

I'm finding johnsons pads are best as they are almost cushioned & thicker without looking bulky Smile

This has lots of self help tips to help manage/calm down an oversupply. Time will help but it doesn't mean you have to spend the next few months swimming in breast milk either!

Hope there's something there which works for you.

I feel for you! My dd is 10 weeks old and we have the same problem. It's much worse on my right side which is a bit strange - she and I are both soaked by the end of a feed.

I found the kellymom page recommended by truthsweet very helpful. I also second lansinoh pads - a godsend!

I had this, and it did get better as my supply regulated itself. It is horrible to feel completely milk sodden all day though, I agree.

Third the lansinoh pads, they hold an amazing amount of milk, then just needed to change them every few hours.
