Anyone planning on FF/have FFd from birth? I promise it's not a trap ;-)

I am planning on FF soon to be born DD2; this may seem like a stupid question, but what will happen with my milk? Will it dry up straight away or should I express? How long can I expect this to take?

Never heard of breast cancer links with meds to stop bf.....sounds like some crossed wires there :(

My understanding is that there is a very small risk of coma - and actually the stronger argument is that drugs are just not needed as nature does the job just fine, so why bother giving meds, which always have some risk of side effect, and whose use and impact need to be monitored?

Someone posted on a thread recently that some of the older medications were linked to unacceptably high incidence of heart attack or strokes. Cabergoline is the one they apparently still sometimes prescribe, but it too has some unpleasant side effects (something like a third of people get nausea, others get headaches, constipation, etc).

Because the side effects are so common, they tend to only prescribe drugs in this country if lactation is a real risk to the mother - normally to her mental health after something tragic like a stillbirth.

I never tried it but apparently raw cabbage leaves are good for helping with engorgement. Seems quite strange but it's said to work.
