I'm sure I have read that it is illegal to promote or reduce the price of first formula milk....I saw today they have a pack of 6 (I think) reduced. I pointed it out to customer services but I wonder if it will be the same in other stores.

yes, pretty sure it's against the law, well done you for saying something

charlatan · 23/04/2012 17:03

I saw the same at our Morrisons on Saturday and wondered if that was allowed or not. I noticed they had a short date (24/04/12) but got a feeling it is still against the code. What did customer services say?

Ifancyanewname · 23/04/2012 17:06

that they would have someone from health and beauty take them off.....I shall be checking next time I go in to make sure but I thought I'd better double check before I go getting all flighty with them!

Why are you making such a thing about it? Yes, they aren't meant to promote first formula milk but it is hardly a big deal. Are you one of those breast feeding mums who don't like women to have a choice? Perhaps you should calm down a bit.

usualsuspect · 23/04/2012 17:18

I wouldn't have said any thing , everyone deserves a bargain, even FF

Ifancyanewname · 23/04/2012 17:19

I'm all for INFORMED choice for women based on sound and unbiased information. Why are you making such a big deal out of expecting a store to follow the law?

snort!

Well done you for mentioning it. A lot of shop floor level staff are probably ignorant of the law.

This isnt about formula mums not getting some money off the manufacteurs have got that sorted with the marketing ploys of follow on milks etc.

MigGril · 23/04/2012 17:48

Well actualy it's against the law and wearther you think it's right or not Journey they are breaking the law. Do you think it's right for people to go around breaking the law?

facejacker · 23/04/2012 19:10

I have to say, whilst I understand why you complained, OP, I wouldn't have done it myself. I realise it's against the law but it's not actually harming anyone. Would a bfing Mum see it on offer, and suddenly decide to give up bfing cos the formula milk is cheaper? We are living in hard economic times after all..
