Breastfeeding in a sling - recommendations

I didn't manage to feed DD in a sling as she/ we had lots of difficulties feeding and I couldn't get to grips with positioning to feed in a sling. I did use slings a lot to carry her though - moby wrap, woven ring sling and a Connecta SSC.

As I breastfed her for 20 months, I'm hoping (everything crossed) that I'll find DC2 (due in June) easier to feed. I'm expecting to use a sling a lot, in order to cope with the toddler. Has anyone had success with feeding in a sling and, if so, which type? I'll probably be investing in one more, so any recommendations would be helpful. I particularly like a thinner, summer one I think.

I found the Huggababy - a woven ring sling the best for breastfeeding.

Yes, I used my ring sling for BF too, DD2 was sitting upright facing me and I just jiggled her down a bit for a feed. I can still do it now and she's 14 mo.

I did get shown by a sling lady with the ring sling. DD was about 5 months old by then I think. Would it work with a newborn?

I managed it with DD2 when she was around 6 weeks, I didn't try before that.

I used to feed dts in two ring slings, they were in the rugby hold with legs behind me, found it so much easier when out.
I found watching videos on u tube helpful, to get positioning right.

Largeglassofred (bet you need that often!), that sounds a remarkable feat. Didn't think of looking on YouTube. Thanks.

I found it easiest to feed (newborn to toddler) in a ring sling but I've also been able to use a woven wrap and a mei tai but didn't find it quite so easy.
