What should I be eating to help DD's raw bum?

DD2 is 2.5 weeks. She has the most awful bum. Started last week when she had really runny poo that almost burnt her skin.

Mw sent us to dr who gave us canesten. No better by Mon so progressed to hydrocortisone and then a topical antibiotic.

I'm going back tomorrow and have stopped using the creams as they appear to be making it worse. The skin is raw and weeping.

I'm also trying some reuseable nappies but was wondering if there was anything I could eat to make her poo less acidic or more solid?

sudocreme does nothing for DS, only metanium. We have to use it all the time, if we switch to nothing or sudocreme when he seems clear it comes back within 2 nappy changes. I change him 2 hourly, when it stretches to 3 hours over the course of a few days then I see bad skin coming back again.

Although with us, rash is from nappy not contents most of the time IYSWIM. He also has sensitive skin on his head, but that is kept under control with oil on his head twice a day (has to be twice a day).

We use reusuables (bumgenius) in the day and disposables at night

As the other have said, it will depend on what is causing the rash/sore bottom. My DD periodically has a very sore bottom. She is now 2 yo, and cries when I chnage her if her bottom is bad, it breaks my heart.

My DD gets individual small spots on her bottom which is thrush. Canesten works sometimes, other times we need to use Trimovate, which usually works very fast (once it didnt work).

The real turning point for us has been putting moisturiser all over my DD's bottom before barrier cream - its been fantatic. Maybe you could try this? It was a GP that suggested we try this, I was dubious but it seemed to really help my DD's last outbreak.

Lots of nappy free time, washing your dd's bottom with water instead of wipes, avoiding perfumed soapy stuff in the bath and changing your DD's bottom regularly will help - although I found that these helped, without our thrush creams my DD's bottom just wouldnt clear up.

Did you find that her runny bottom came after you had eaten somthing different/in large quantities? My DD is allergic to milk and her poos were awful after I'd had a bowl of cereal with cows milk in it.
