Baby pulls away from the breast

My 5 week old DS has started to pull away from the breast when I feed him. He has always done it, as the milk comes out too quickly for him, but previously he was able to suck continuously after the first 5 minutes. Now he pulls away to swallow, then roots around for a minute before latching on again.
I have visited MW to get help but of course he was behaving perfectly those times!
DS also feeds every 1 hour.
What can I do to reduce the feeds and help him stay on the breast?
How do I know my milk supply is enough for him?
It seems like he is hungry all the time. I used to be able to express after most feeds, but after a bout of mastitis, nothing seems to come out after feeding him.

You can tell he is getting enough by what come out. 8-10 wet nappies in 24hours and pooing at lest twice a day at this age. Pooing may be starting to slow at this point.

Is feeding comftable for you? No soure nipples?

Feeding frequently is very common in the early days'. Expressing in no indication of supply so don't worry about this.

Have a read hear of what to expect in the early weeks kellymom.com/bf/normal/newborn-nursing/

As for the pulling of if it's fast letdown then trying feeding in different possitons may help him. feeding lieing back may help, as this helps reduce the flow. But having someone observe the feed is the best advice really as it's hard to tell without seeing him feed. Do you have a local drop in group you could go to as well as asking the midwife?
