dd is 12 months now and have felt really proud that she has been mainly bf. but now as she has got bigger and is eating solids quite well and cows milk, she doesnt seem that interested in bf anymore? i'm sure this is normal for her age etc but i will really miss the special time at bedtime and first thing! is it best to just stop or keep offering or offer less? not sure as i think there probably isnt that much milk its more for comfort.

what have others done? wd appreciate advice as feel sad to stop as she will most likely be my last dc and cant believe they have all grown so fast!

If you are not sure whether or not to stop yet, you could continue to offer - she won't feed if she doesn't want it. As they get a bit older they can sometimes be a bit up and down with feeding - sometimes often, sometimes skip a day or two (or more) It would be quite unusual to self wean at 12m but not unheard of, OTOH getting too interested in everything else that is going on to stop for a feed is very common Grin

FWIW my youngest had a couple of false stops - not feeding for 5-6 days or so then starting again as he got closer to stopping entirely but he was around 2 then.

I stopped at 11 months, kept offering in morning and night but gradually he took less and less and I produced less milk.
