Are there any nursing bras that don't make your norks look saggy?

Any?

I am currently wearing a 36F from Marks and Spencers that I bought when I was 37 weeks pregnant, DD is now 15 weeks so supply has settled down somewhat. I want some new bras with a bit of support and don't remsemble a disgusting, saggy old tit sack.

Do they exist?

The Anita underwire nursing bra. Amazing - and once it fits correctly the underwire shouldn't cause any problems

MarkStretch · 09/04/2012 23:11

Oooh thanks. Where can you get them? Are they in shops or just online?

Where do you live? I know a London stockist.

KittieCat · 09/04/2012 23:18

Try Bravissimo, I have some from there and they're great. Even better if you can go into a store and be fitted.

MarkStretch · 09/04/2012 23:19

Norwich.

We have a Bravissimo, I could try in there.

Just looking for Anita online.

Seconding the Anita, I'm a 36 HH and wouldn't consider wearing anything else for feeding now. I got mine from www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk as it was the best price I found them for.

It's not like wearing a proper supportive 'hold me up' bra as it's very stretchy, but definitely better than non-wired pointy and waist level boob inducing bras Grin

heliumballoon · 09/04/2012 23:27

Bravissimo don't stock underwired nursing bras though I suggest it in their comments book at every visit

TBH although I really rate the shop and their fitting, I was pretty underwhelmed by their offering of two styles of nursing bra, both of which give me the dreaded mono boob.

DreamsInBinary · 09/04/2012 23:36

Figleaves do them - they are perfect.

MarkStretch · 09/04/2012 23:53

Brilliant thanks, I will look into underwiring. I would normally wear underwiring when not feeding, after 3 dc's my boobs need all the help they can get.

I'm a bit confused about measurements though. I put my stats into anita and hotmilk websites and they both said 36D, that's a bit smaller than I've been measured before. Everytime I go and get fitted they tell me a different size!

Now my supply has settled quite well should I order the bra size I normally wear?

This is why it's such a monumental PITA ordering bras over t'internet. It's all guesswork and it's especially important that an underwired bra fits perfectly and doesn't dig in. My best advice is to order many bras-six or so- and return the ones you don't want. Anita comes up small in the cup size IMHO. Order pref from a site offering free returns if you can find one.

marriednotdead · 10/04/2012 08:24

What size do/did you normally wear? Was the 36f measured by M&S? What size do you buy your normal tops in? Chances are that you are a very different size bra in reality.

YoullLaughAboutItOneDay · 10/04/2012 08:43

Yes, yes, yes. Anita is the only way to go. I would be soooo depressed by lack of under wiring and a matronly bosom!

OeufRouge · 10/04/2012 08:57

Bravissimo do have a fairly rubbish choice of nursing bras but they are good at fitting. If you've been fitted in M&S then you're probably wearing the wrong size and that won't help.

If you've been BF for a while and your supply is regulated then you could always just try a normal bra, I went back into an underwired plunge bra (it's the only style that fits me) when DD1 was about 9 months, and the same with DD2. It's easy enough to feed and I found them are more supportive than nursing bras.

Pastabee · 10/04/2012 09:13

disgusting, saggy, old tit sack. You have made me laugh..... That perfectly describes the M&S bras I wear at night.

I wear Anita in the day. They don't have a DD cup size so you tend to have to go up a size to take account of this.

Agree that Bravissimo are fantastic at measuring but nursing bra selection is woeful. Perhaps get measured there and buy online?

SkiBumMum · 10/04/2012 09:15

Freya do a lovely one. Again, available on figleaves.

MarkStretch · 11/04/2012 15:59

Hmm, I would normally wear a 36DD or D when not breastfeeding. 36F was measured by M&S and to be honest I was a little horrified at that, I don't think it was very accurate. Thanks for all your advice, think I will go and get measured at Bravissimo and then order online.

The Freya dotty bra was the ONLY one for me (and I tried loads!)

hmo2b · 11/04/2012 17:50

I have bought mine from Debenhams. They are from the Miriam Stoppard range. Here is the link. I am very happy with them and have one in black and one in white.www.debenhams.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/prod_10001_10001_152010536280_-1?breadcrumb=Home%7Etxtnursing+bra

marriednotdead · 11/04/2012 21:13

I can almost guarantee that you will be a smaller back and bigger cup than M&S make you. Their default measure seems to be 36DD- I got it too. Am actually 32FF/G Grin
