Ive got to go on a long bus journey tomorrow with the little one as he has an appointment at the hospital and i don't drive, for ease i am going to express and fill a bottle tonight to take with us, trouble is i don't know what to do with it.
should i keep it at room temp?
fridge it and let it warm up on its own while we travel? (he wont take it cold)
or warm it before we leave and hope its ok when he needs it?

Why do you need to take a bottle? Just feed when hungery, that's one of the best things about BF it's portable and always ready at the right temperature.

You should put the milk in the fridge after expressing, it's then good to be out for upto 6hours tomorrow.

i may need to use a bottle because i have to travel by bus and have you ever been on a teesside bus? they arent the most stable of transport, wouldnt manage to hold baby hold pram steady and stop myself from falling from the bus seat. i have no qualms with bf in public any other time :)

I don't know about the expressed milk issue but I think you'd at least have 1 spare hand if you just breastfed whereas giving a bottle you'll have no spare hand to hold the pushchair or yourself because you'd be holding the baby with one hand and the bottle with the other. Or would you give the baby the bottle whilst s/he's in the pushchair?
I'm not saying this as some sort of militant breastfeeder, just thinking out loud

Just seen your post on another thread, envisaging you spraying passengers on the bus tomorrow whilst attempting to latch your DC on Wink

Are you planning on feeding baby in pram? Thats the only way it may be easier. Have you ever tried feeding in a sling? Prob a bit too late as a suggestion.

Has your baby had a bottle before? Only if not, then they might not take it. My DD acted like I was trying to poison her when I attempted to give her a bottle of expressed! We soon gave up & just stuck with boobs!

oh yeah, sorry should have said, he is happy to take expressed milk from a bottle, my questions are really on how to store/warm milk for the journey that's all i need help with really, his car seat fits onto the pram base so he will be in that which is quite upright for feeding him a bottle in i do have a baby wrap but i have bad legs and i don't wear it out with him in case i fall with him
fhdl34: yeah i do that quite a lot >.< if he suddenly lets go i can squirt quite far, I'm sure the old biddys would love a face full of milk lol

I would warm before journey and store in a thermal bag/ pouch in changing bag if you have one. x

I've fed on a crowded bus before, the puschiar break was quit good at keeping it from rolling around.

Hope you had a good trip.
