A quick recap, excusevone handed typing...

Dd2 is ebf 7.5 wks old and has always been fussy from lunchtime until bedtime. I have wondered if it was reflux but just assumed that it was colic/normal and would pass with time. Her stools have always been mucousy, she never poos without explosive farts. Her weight gain is normal.
It is hard going and she is clearly in pain a lot of the time, including right now...

We went to doc this morning as dd1 has had d&v and dd2 dud 2 liquid poos this morning with A LOT of mucous. Doc listened to her tum, confirmed immature intestines and proscribed probiotic drops.

This afternoon dd has done another very mucousy poo but with blood in it. What should I do?

I would call NHS direct unless your doctors is still open. It might be nothing but probably best just to check.

If she's straining to poo it could be blood from a superficial fissure/tear, blood can also appear with tummy upsets. It's always worth checking out though, as more jelly-like blood can indicate more serious intestinal issues.

Is it definitely blood or could it be urates which are an orangey-red colour? These appear in a baby's nappy sometimes if they're slightly dehydrated. Best to speak to the dr in either case.

Thanks, no out of hours service here (abroad) so it means a trip to a&e...
