low supply at 9 months?

DS had tt snipped at 5 months, I had massive oversupply so was advised to feed on one side per feed. I have done this from about the 3 month mark. DS has always been fed on demand and but about a month ago a dietician at the hospital said I needed to offer less milk and more solids.
So at the moment we are bf roughly 7 times in a 24hr period with 3 meals of solids in between. The problem comes in the evening and DS comes on and off and cries and generally doesnt seem happy. Tonight after this I offered him formula and he took 3oz :( Im scared that I have reduced my milk supply too much. I cant feel a let down anymore and have stopped leaking. During the day I offer more feeds and he cries and turns away.
To make it worse he has lots of teeth and a lip tie and had latch has got sore and sandpaper like again and part of me is glad he isnt nursing so much.
Does any of this sounds normal for a nine month old and if not is there anything I can do about it?

To me, this doesn't sound like a supply problem. Is your DS over tired when you put him to bed at night? Try putting him to bed a little earlier. Also, he is now starting to enjoy being in control. He can refuse a feed if he just doesn't fancy it. For a while I was worried my DS was self-weaning at around 10 months but that wasn't the case. Also, 7 bfs and 3 solid meals is quite a lot. You can cut out one or two feeds, it looks like he doesn't want it. Overall, you'll have to be patient and adjust to you growing baby's new habits and behaviours. My DS when he is not particularly hungry goes from one breast to another taking just one suckle at a time. As a result, fountains from both breasts, milk all over his face and my clothes. Just continue to enjoy this beautiful journey but don't expect it to stay the same.

Second what Valeria said about bfing changing over time.

I found that stopped leaking around this time too, i think your body is just better at regulating supply as months pass.

By 9 months my DS was having 3 meals plus little morning and afternoon snacks, with milk only 3 or 4 times and water to supplement. I guess they're all different, but could your lo be dropping feeds, do you think?

Could just be teething or a growth spurt, you can go back to offering more sides per feed. If he's need's more then you offer more and you'll make more no need to give formula.

If the latch is soure again then it's worth going back and asking for more help with this, local BF group or one of the helpline's. The latch can change as teeth come in and you may need to think about going back to basics with this.

You should still offer milk before solids untill they are one and milk should still be the main part of his diet at this age. kellymom.com/nutrition/starting-solids/solids-how/
