DS doesn't seem to like formula, any ideas?

Have decided to try DS (6m) with a bottle at betime (is bf and BLW) as he is not sleeping for very long - 30min naps in day, 2h stretches at night. I hoped that giving formula would mean I had a better supply for a later feed as I hoped he would sleep longer with formula. He hates it and cries if you try to give it to him. Have tried 2 different powders and a carton. Have tried different bottles, teats and sippy cup - No Go!
Should I keep trying small amonts during the day or leave it for a while? He eats loads of foods so wonder if it is too bland for his tastes. Any advice?

My ds never took to formula (about 6 months he stopped feeding happily in public, i hated expressing so gave formula a try). Drove me potty trying, never did take a bottle, got on best with avent cup spouts with valve removed but doidy cup also not bad. Eventually HV advised me to leave it and add some snacks between meals instead, which seemed to suit us both. We bf for 23 months in total, but i never found that i had extra milk as a result of less feeds IYSWIM as my supply just adjusted down within days.

Hi, I wanted to do the same and we have the hang of it now after a rocky start. We are using the second type of formula we tried, she rejected the first big style. She started by drinking just an ounce of formula 'between breasts' (fed from one side, bottle, then second side). It also had to be just the right temperature, quite warm like the breast milk.

I would feed her the milk in the day at first to get used to it before introducing it at night. It also helps to wait till she is definitely hungry.

Now she is used to it she seems to enjoy the bottle as a different experience to the breast feeds she gets.

I hope this helps. We did notice a couple of hours difference in the amount of sleep we got for a while then the teething started, but she is only 4 1/2 months not 6.

Good luck with it.
