FF and projectile vomit/wind

Anyone have any advice? (sorry this is a bit long)

DS is 12 weeks old, we switched to exclusive formula feeding (no real problems with bf for him, but I just couldn't hack it anymore). I can't seem to get it right though - he has always been a sicky baby, and when he was bf he ate constantly, and obviously I had no idea how much volume he was getting, but he packed on the weight (6lbs 12 at birth, 13lbs 13 at 11 weeks!) so even though there was loads of sick I wasnt worried iyswim? Since moving to ff I can really see how much he's eating, and for a while he was eating a 5oz feed, throwing it all up, and then eating another 5oz straight afterwards. Went to the GP, and since he's "clearly thriving" covered in lovely fat rolls she wasn't too worried, but suggested he might just be a greedy munchkin who guzzles his feeds and that we should move back to the newborn size teats on the bottles so thar he has to eat more slowly.

We did this, and it seemed to solve the sick problem, but he developed really bad wind and it really affected his sleep (lots of writhing and grunting and farting all the time), so the past few days we moved to the size 2 teats, thinking that he was sucking so furiously at the bottle with the small teats (and getting really cross during feeds) that he was swallowing loas of air. Since then though it has been vomageddon. He's projectile vomitted every feed, even with multiple stops to burp him and make him rest after each couple of oz.

He seems fine in himself, full of smiles and wriggling/flailing around as per usual, but it doesn't seem like he's kept more than a couple of ozs down since yesterday evening and I'm becoming paranoid he's getting dehydrated!

Someone has suggested trying different bottles (we're using avent ones atm)? Any suggestions?

Try born free bottles. Bit more fiddly to clean than avent bottles but are very good at reducing amount of air taken.

I've used Avent, then Dr Browns and I'm now using Tommy Tippee.

My DD used to be very windy and projectile quiet a bit. I found the Dr Browns better than avent to help stop the wind, however they are a PITA to clean.

I know Mothercare did have an offer on Tommy Tippee bottles 6 for about £12. Might be worth a go to see if they help

DD used to suffer terribly with wind. We switched bottles which helped a bit but the thing that made the biggest difference was making her formula up with camomile tea.

A friend suggested it and once i was sure it didnt have anything in it that could harm her i figured we didnt have anything to lose. The difference was dramatic and amazing.

Having done a bit of online research into it it seems it is a bit of a staple remedy in europe for colicy babies. i can see why.
