When do bf babies grow out of cluster feeding?

DD is 4 1/2 weeks old now and has been cluster feeding in the evenings nearly every night since she was born. She will generally start getting fussy any time between 5-7pm and then will feed and fuss pretty much constantly until around 11pm-midnight. Although it is exhausting, I am fine with this and it's not an issue for me (I am just parking myself on the sofa once DS is in bed and getting DH to supply drinks/snacks!) and the positive side of it is that she is generally then only waking once during the night for a quick feed then settling again until around 6-7am, which I know is great for her age. So - my question is, when is she likely to grow out of this and start settling earlier in the evening? I also breastfed my DS but he never did this and fell into a 3-4 hourly feeding pattern day & night pretty much from the start so I have no experience of cluster feeding. We are going to a wedding in 2 months time & DD will be with us so that is not a problem, but I just don't want to spend the whole evening with my boobs out! I'd also like to introduce a bedtime routine of bath, feed, settle etc sometime in the next few weeks but there is no point starting this until she is over her evening fussiness. Anyone have any experience? Thanks!

DD has just started to settle in the evenings and she turned 13 weeks yesterday. No idea how typical that is though.

DD was also about 13 weeks when she didn't cluster feed as much. But if we were out and about, we went to a big party, she was fine if she was getting attention from other people.

Mine is 7 weeks and evening cluster feeding still going strong....

Usually by 3/4 months, but weeks 6-8 is when evening fussiness peaks (irrespective of whether cluster feeding or not).

By 12weeks dd was going to bed around 8 and had a sort of routine

(it only lasted 4 weeks though before it all went wrong again)

Would she have a dummy at the wedding to buy you a bit of time? You'll probably find the change of scene and extra noise will distract her from fussing a bit

Around 3months is quit normal. don't panic about introducing a bedtime routine untill she shows she's ready for it.

I spent week's needlelssy sitting in a dark room trying to get DD to settel earlier, I now know they just do it on there own when they are ready. enjoy the lovely cuddles on the sofa.

DS is 5 months now, and he slowed down the cluster feeds about a month ago, and thats when we introduced his bedtime routine of bath at 7, story, feed and bed. he settles quickly now, but i know if we tried to implement anything like that during the cluster feeding stage there would have been major hysterics.
its nice that he's not cluster feeding any more - he would feed from 8pm til 1 or 2 am!! but at least he would have a good 4-5 hr sleep. now he's feeding every 2 hrs through the night so i dont know whats worse! i just keep telling myself in a few weeks it'll all change again...probably!

Thanks for all your replies ladies. I guess I have a good few more weeks/months of this ahead! I am not in any great rush to introduce a bedtime routine, just thinking ahead. MigGril - yes, I remember the hours spent sitting in the dark with DS trying to get him to sleep! If we had just waited a few more weeks I'm sure we would have avoided all that! Hopefully DD will be happy getting all the attention from other people at the wedding and won't be so fussed about feeding all night. Anyway - I guess she just needs what she needs when she needs it! Thanks again.
