Won't settle after feeding

Wondered if anyone can help. My baby is 8 days old but since day 2 she will not settle anywhere apart from in my arms after feeding. Does anyone have any tips for how to settle a baby into moses basket or pram? It's as if my baby is fighting sleep continually and as a result is overtired and screaming. She sleeps at night fine but only in bed on top of me. I'm finding this really distressing.

Some of them are just like this. Think of it as a survival thing, a hangup from when there were wild animals prowling around.

Could it be cluster feeding? Some babies like to feed loads in the evening so keep offering.

It is knackering so go easy on yourself. I started feeding ds lying down, then once they are asleep you can gently roll them on to their back and slip away (just make sure there are no duvets or pillows nearby and bed is against the wall with any gap filled with towels).

My DS is 6 months and he was the exact same. We bought a rocking stand for his moses basket as it would soothe him to be rocked. Trouble is when we moved him to his cot at 3 months, he couldn't be rocked anymore! So then DP started rocking him, then when he was away on business one night, again he couldn't be soothed. There is no solution to it I'm afraid, some babies like to be held! I've recently spoke to health visitors about it and they said to me i you need a break, put the baby in the cot safely and let them cry for a bit. It's not going to kill them but i know what it's like when you just want a sit down for 2 minutes or a shower and they just want you all the time!

Some things that help DS a bit are put some of your breast pads in the cot or pram so it smells of you, or something you've been wearing that day. Put in a hot water bottle so it's cozy and warm. Use a comforter or teddy to associate with bedtime. We also always put a certain lullaby cd. DS also stay asleep/content in his cot if he has a furry blanket in. Not sure why but he loves the softness on his face!

The first 3 months are hard work!
