4mo screams a minute into her feed whether breast, ebm in a bottle or formula.

My 4mo has had problems with feeding since she was born but, as she is growing well, none of the medical professionals seem to take me seriously.

A minute or two into a feed dd starts screaming really loudly and looks distressed. Even if I get her to burp she won't take anymore milk.

Therefore she only drinks an ounce and so can't sleep for long as she's hungry.

She's always quite gasy and just screams randomly sometimes and wakes looking in pain sometimes.

I can get her to take slightly more if I feed her upright in the sling or when she's asleep, but she still ends up distressed and screaming.

The GP thinks she's normal, but it can't be normal to look in pain at every feeding and so neither eat nor sleep well, can it? She seems always hungry.

We're feeding every hour day and night and I worry about taking dd out as if I have to fed her she'll scream the place down.

She's had a tongue-tie divided twice, but it doesn't seem to have helped. Also, Infacol doesn't seem to be helping but cranial ostepathy seems to be helping slightly.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Maybe silent reflux? Lots of info on the reflux thread in the feeding section, but my ds was similar and that is what he had - especially the preferring upright feeds. It's definitely not normal - insist your gp refers you to a paediatrician if they won't consider prescribing reflux meds themselves.

Gosh OP sorry you're having such a tough time, sounds awful. I'd wonder about reflu, too, and more specifically a case linked to food intolerances. DD is intolerant to soy and dairy, and if I accidentally eat any she's very very agitated when she feeds. As dairy is the food most likely to cause problems it might be worth going dairy free for 6 weeks to see if it would help, its not as daunting as it sounds and I can give you some tips for your shopping basket if you want.
