Just the one sore nipple

Does anyone else get just one sore nipple from time to time? My left nipple has it's sore days for no reason I can find. Like today, I just noticed whilst walking around it feels sore and when DD is feeding it's hurting a bit. I've checked the latched and relatched her when it hurt quite a bit so I was extra sure she was latched correctly. I don't know why some days it hurts on that side. Anyone else?

Yes same here. How old is your DD fhd ? DD is nearly 6 weeks and left nipple has started to hurt most of the time now (it was ok in the early days). Right is fine. Left is frequently pinched looking after feeds and I do feel she's chewing on me. Had a look at her tongue today and am starting to suspect tongue tie, but need to get a professional opinion. She has a few other symptoms too from what I've read.
Not sure why it is just the one nipple though and why I'm feeling it more now, so will watch this thread with interest...

DD is 9wks. Mine sometimes is pointed but I have big boobs abd big areolas and her mouth isn't that big. If she's struggling to latch I sort of tip her head on to ensure her bottom lip is down

sometimes my DD (8 wks) falls asleep on the breast but still sucks and the latch slips off a bit, but when i try to detach her she clamps down on my nipple and that certainly hurts! my DD also has fussy times, particularly on the left breast, where she wriggles a lot and spits milk out and sometimes coughs. this made me ask the GP about tongue tie but she said she couldn't see anything obvious to suggest it and that it was probably just a minor latch issue or boob preference as she is gaining weight brilliantly :) might be best to ask your GP to take a look at her 6-8 week check. :)

just to add that sometimes a GP or a midwife can miss a tongue tie (even a very big one). A lactation consultant that is trained in diagnosing tongue ties would be the person to see.
Wedge shaped nipples after a feed are one indicator.

DS had forceps delivery and needed some cranial osteopathy work done after tt release. I found the one sided nipple pain disappeared after tt snip and 4 cranial osteopathy sessions.

When all else failed I got help from Charlie at Milk Matters and she was super

I don't think DD has tongue tie but not sure what it looks like. Most days boobs are fine, just the odd day my nipple will hurt even when she isn't feeding. Was going to go to an LLL meeting on Friday but my section wound is still open at the end and hurting so I gave it a miss.
