How fast are allergens transmitted through your milk?

2.2 y.o. DS has had a diagnosis of various nut allergies today. I've just eaten a cake, only to discover it has nuts in Blush. I'm sure it's fine - and it's the nut to which he's least allergic - but I am kicking myself now. I'm off to the doctor's in an hour to pick up his epi-pen.

How fast might it be before it gets through to him in my milk? He feeds relatively often.

Oh, the poor love. Hope your colds aren't too bad.

I think allergies are odd - all mine started age 20. At least I don't like cats but it must be awful to have to give your pet away.

She was a sweetie (called Suzie Skittles!) and lovely but I just couldn't keep her. We went round to mum's last week and moments after holding Suzie I was wheezing so the reaction is getting worse (prob pg throwing a spanner in the works too!). At least with her being at mum's we know she is being looked after and loved (Suzie is the spit of my mum's last cat so she dotes on her).

I managed to get to 25 before having hayfever so I really don't understand allergies!
