Why would my letdown have become slow?

baby is now 7 months and keen on solids so the b feeding has reduced a little. She was ebfed til 26 weeks and still feeds plenty (day and night). But she is getting frustrated by my letdown which used to be fast and is now taking a while. Is this a sign my supply is low? I only say this because her feeds seem so fast (except at night when she takes her time )

No, just something which happens as they get older. You could try breast compressions, literally putting pressure on the breast as she feeds to sort of force more milk out faster which can make up for the slower letdown.

She has also probably become more efficient at feeding due to developments in her tongue and mouth muscles which come at around this age due to readiness for solids, so nothing to worry about :)

Even if your supply has dropped at this stage she will be well able to reinstate it, it will definitely be established enough not to be that fragile.

Thank you. I was curious as it has become noticeable in the last week at the same time as she has suddenly discovered the joy of solid food and i wondered if it was connected to the slowdown in b feeding.

Could be, I suppose, but in any case if it is it will soon go back to normal, don't worry :)
