oooh, help!
last week, i noticed that my right boob was bigger than my left boob. :(
I thought it would right itself, so i carried on as usual, feeding on each side.
We're still only on one boob per feed, so if i did left last time, i'll do right the next.
i think it might be happening during night feeds, but today, i noticed that my right boob is nearly twice the size of my left one( and quite hard too)!

I don't know how to right it!

what can i do to een them out? what makes one boob fuller?

please! it noticeable in my top!

(pls correct typos, feeding...)

also, if she doesn't drain one boob, should she still start on the other boob next time or go back to that one?

How old is your LO? Do you think you might have an issue with oversupply? When you say it's bigger than the other, is it engorged or soft??

I feed my DD with only one breast per feed and use the same breast for 3 hours at a time!

nickelDorritt · 24/02/2012 12:19

she's 10w +5

I don't know if it's engorged - it's bigger all the time, even after feeds when they're both soft.

You'd know if it was engorged as the breast would feel hard tight and a little uncomfortable even sore maybe!! It would then reduce in size once your LO would feed from it! I suffer with an oversupply and by the morning one breast would be huge! But then it does go back to normal size once DD feeds from it!!

Hopefully someone will come along that can help soon!!

nickelDorritt · 24/02/2012 12:30

i'm not sure.
it does feel hard and uncomfy in the morning like you suggest.
and it does reduce in size but never to as small as the left one.

i'm worried i've irreparably made it bigger! so i'll be lopsided forever. Shock

I had this too in the early weeks. My left boob is still a bit bigger but unless I'm "full" you can't visibly see the difference so much. I always fed from 2 boobs per feed because ds is a greedy guzzler but my left became bigger I think because he was more comfortable feeding from that side so I think he always fed a bit longer there.

Gina1981 · 24/02/2012 13:03

I wouldn't worry too much nickel, it will sort itself out in the end! I'm 13 weeks into bf now and both boobs go up and down like yo yo's! Thank god for nursing bras as my cup size is alot smaller by the end of the day!!

We've all got one bigger than the other anyway!

nickelDorritt · 24/02/2012 13:08

thanks, i hope so! :)

so, right, for example, she's just had a small feed on gigantic boob, and gone to sleep.
next time I feed should i put her on small boob, or try to get her to finish gigantic boob? Will that make gigantic boob believe that it needs to make more to keep up with demand?

Gina1981 · 24/02/2012 13:58

If that was me then yes I would offer from the same breast! How often does LO feed? DD has fed 3 times since 10.30am and I've offered R breast twice in those 3 hours as I have a problem with oversupply!

nickelDorritt · 24/02/2012 14:01

she doesn't have a routine yet. I guess it's every 2 or 3 hours? in the day.
It's pretty constant in the evening.

I had this issue with my daughter, and it did return to normal once I stopped feeding her. Now I have same issue with my son-and he basically refuses to feed off the left side. I try to even it up with pumping but I may just have to be lopsided for duration. Just to reassure you it will probably even up again eventually!

nickelhasababy · 25/02/2012 10:48

:) thanks

I'm a bit lopsided at the moment too, DD is 7 months old now. My right boob has always been a bit more troublesome, I think I just don't produce as much on that side. I'm really hoping it does settle down once I stop bf.

I'm afraid I'd say the opposite of Gina - I'd feed as much as possible from the smaller one, to try and encourage it to produce more. That said, I've been trying to do this, and I'm not sure it's made moch difference.

Sorry, that's no help whatsoever, is it?

nickelhasababy · 27/02/2012 12:30

no, it is! :)

I have been encouraging her to use as much as each side as poss, but she is spending longer on the small one - can't decide whether it's because there's less in it andshe's trying to up it.
