Giving up the bottle when and why?

Hi all, just a quick quest my daughter has been bottle fed since about 5 months when I have up breastfeeding. Now she is 16 months and still has 2 7oz bottles of toddler milk at morning and before bed. I was thinking of getting rid of these as she has a great diet and drinks plenty of fluids from the cup during the day. I know she should probably be off them already and honestly don't think she would miss them that much but my question is why? To be honest the bottle in the am buys me a but of time to get ready for work and I feel the evening one is a comfort and part of her bedtime routine. Is there something damaging about having bottles at this age or should I just leave her as is?

Yes it is recommeded to stop bottle feeding at 12 months. I think this is to do with the formation of the mouth and tooth decay. It might be worth taking her to your next appointment at the dentist and having a chat with them about it.

There is some information here on stopping bottles at 12 months and here on how much milk she should be having.

Thanks for the info, I do get that it would be problematic if she was drinking from a bottle all day re mouth/tooth formation but I don't understand how 2 bottles when she is drinking for max 10 minutes each could affect her mouth structure significantly. Not trying to justify just genuinely don't understand the basis for the recommendation
