How wet should a wet diaper be?

I have a 5 month old and I used to feed her on demand and she ate every 2 hours sometimes more sometimes less mostly less and I just read the baby whisperer and I'm trying to do EASY so she's only eating like 5 times a day including the dream feed not counting night feeds and her diapers used to be very very full like if I put a base ball or a soft ball in her diaper and now that her feeds are cut her diaper is soooo small I read up a little and one site said it should be if you put 4 to 6 oz of water in a diaper that's about average of what it should look like and that is what her diapers look like now so I was wondering if I was over feeding her before cuz they defidently made a thud when it hit the floor she's breastfed and she is very active when awake I'm in trouble when she's crawling haha so she's defidently alert and content never cries all in all she's just the way she was before just her diapers are way less heavy she was 24 in long and 10 pounds when she was born and now she is 27 in and 20 pounds she's in high 90s for both weight and height on growth chart

I'm guessing you mean nappy. I can't read more than two lines of your post. Try it again using punctuation.

Ya a diaper anyone with an actual answer would be great

Your post is so difficult to read. Agree with lisaro about the punctuation. Is your baby looking happy and healthy, and is she progressing? Wetness quotient unimportant.

She's giggling and kicking her feet and squirming around like she usually does everything is the same just her diapers are light

How often are you changing her nappy; surely that will effect how heavy they are?

The first one of the morning will be very full I imagine but then if you change them often enough that your child is comfortable... I can't imagine they'd be all that full.

I don't think you need to worry about fullness of nappy and quantity of wee as such. So long as there is wee and poo, she is eating well and gaining weight.

I change every 2 or 3 hours her morning one is bIg and she's only eating like 10 mins each time

I know this is a really old thread, but stumbled across it when wondering the same thing, so presumably others will too.

The answer I worked out is that over 6 weeks of age, and before weaning, a wet nappy should contain between 60ml and 90ml of fluid. Weight wise this means 60g to 90g (as 1ml weighs approximately 1g).

Assuming 5 or 6 nappies at 60g to 90g each, you would expect 300g to 540g (9 fl oz to 16 fl oz) of liquid each day. Obviously you have to subtract the weight of the nappy itself when weighing. Size 2 nappies are approximately 25g, depending on the brand.
