Breastpad recommendations for over enthusiastic breasts!

DD is nearly 6 months and still I am constantly wearing breastpads, changing them about 4 x a day, frequently leaking through them and soaking bra and top as well, and I am totally fed up of it.

I'm using the Tommee Tippee disposables which are the best disposable I've tried.

Are washable pads more absorbant? Probably more economical given how many I am using!

Can anyone recommend any good washable pads for those with an enthusiastic supply/let down??

Johnsons just soaked through for me. Using Tomee tipee at the moment which usually works if I change at every feed, however at home I'm just using a nappy (terry square!) on the other boob and looking very undignified with both of them hanging out.. (tmi?) but at least its saving the fortune I'm spending on breast pads.

TT ones are £2 in asda at the moment if anyone needs to stock up.

I havent found any reusables that actually work for someone with a huge letdown/oversupply.

Just a suggestion to those on this thread - have you thought about donating to a breastmilk bank? I was able to collect straight into the sterilised bottle from the "other" breast and so was able to give them litres and litres over the time I breastfed and they are so in need of it.

Wee Notions washable pads are great, really comfy due to the fleece and very absorbent, also any pads with bamboo in them as bamboo is very absorbent, its absorbency increases the more you wash it. Make sure you get a PU outer on them as they don't leak.

i found lansinoh were by far the best. tommee tippee were Ok but not great Johnson's were tiny and easily soaked through. washable ones were soaked through in an hour or 2

I needed breastpads til I stopped feeding dd at 15 months

sleepless...that's what I was fearing. I think that happened with my no1 but I'm just blocking out the memory of it. I'd really really like to encourage it to stop its so embarrassing when out :(

Will have to go in search of lansinoh ones (they're more than twice TT though and I'm already spending a fortune. Arg!)
