I am breastfeeding my 7 month old DS. He is on some 'real' foods as well.

He has been doing really nasty nappies ( loose, bit squitty, sorry if tmi)for the last 24 hours and other than being a bit clingy, seems ok.

It could be a food that hasn't agreed with him. But my periods have returned and I seem to remember that this can affect the milk. So could this be the cause of the nappies? Or is it probably the butternut squash?( which I know can have this effect too)

Thanks, am hoping to avoid trip to docs, which, if this carries on, I will have to do for my own piece of mind.

K..really wouldn't worry.
Ther are amazing variations in nappy contents, esp.when they start eating.
Is your HV any good????

If he is still b'feeding then he's probably fine. All sorts of things affect them - diet, teething (excessive drool!) - not heard of breastmilk during periods though. As long as he is drinking, well, weeing and active I wouldn't bother the doctor.

sounds like teething to me.dd's nappies went very offensive and runny every time she was teething, and would often get nappy rash from the very acidic poos !

If he's bf, what did you have to eat? I know ds doesn't half, er, respond when I eat a curry regardless of what solids he's munching.

Just to throw a spanner in the works, it may be a virus. There is a nasty one going around the UK at the moment that includes diarhea. I put my ds2's bad nappies down to teething and then he came down with the bug.

However, I would also say that it could be any of the things mentioned already.

Ta girls.

He is eating, active, drooling, weeing, etc.
Perhaps a bit clingier than usual.

Could be teeth actually.
Already had THAT VIRUS(started a few threads about sick and carpets...)
