Moving on to comfort milk

My DD is 5 weeks old and gaining weight well, but has always had problems with her digestion.
It started at 1 week with constipation. The doctor gave her lactulose, when I went back a week later another doc said it's not constipation, it's colic and to give infacol instead. I asked him about comfort milk but he said it makes no difference.
I was wondering if anyone could give advice as DD is still really grouchy and clearly has tummy ache. Last 2 days have been really bad in particular.

Can you say a bit more about what the symptoms are? It is quite common for little babies to have wind and digestive discomfort, as their digestions are immature and they spend such a lot of time eating and dealing with the food!

She is not settled generally and seems to be straining a lot of the time to push something out, most of the time it's just wind (I'm currently laid next to her, listening to her grunt and squeek. If she wasn't in so much discomfort it would be cute).
She spent most of yesterday and last night crying/screaming and bringing her legs up and arching her back. Monday and Tuesday weren't much fun either.
I've also noticed that over the past few days she is feeding less, but not taking more milk when she does feed and I'm worried that's going to affect her weight gain etc.
Sorry this is a bit garbled, 2 hours sleep doesn't do much for my brain capacity!
She doesn't like being put down any more, for the first 3-4 weeks I could put her down and she would entertain herself for anything up to 15 minutes and when put down to sleep she would settle herself, now she constantly wants to be laid on her tummy either on my shoulder or over my knee.
If I put her down on her tummy either in her cot or on her playmat she is a lot happier, but obviously the government says I'm not supposed to leave her like that.
I'm just wondering if comfort milk would help as it is a lot easier to digest, and may help her be a bit happier.
