DD is almost 13 months. She doesn't BF at all during the day, has a bed time feed (which if I'm honest she's not bothered about)..... and wakes up at about 4am, comes into bed with us, and feeds on and off for about 3 bloody hours!

I'm sort of slightly dreading stopping - I'm not planning on having any more kids so this is my last time. On the other hand, I don't want her to feed for much longer. The bed time feed is going to be easy to drop, and to be frank I'm knackered and I think the only way to stop her waking so early and feeding for so long in the morning is to drop that one too.

So any ideas? DS sort of self-weaned at 12 months but I have a feeling DD isn't going to be quite as simple. I've got a lot of evening work coming up in the next couple of weeks which feels like a useful cut-off point for the bedtime feed. After that I want to deal with the morning. Any tips for dealing with an early waking milk monster?

I would get dh to tackle the 4am wake up. She knows she won't get milk from him and if you're lucky after a few days she will stop waking up for it. And even if she doesn't stop waking up, probably after a few days or a week of your dh going in to settle her she may not even ask for milk if you were to then to settle her at that time.

Good luck Smile

Could you give her a beaker with water in and let her have a drink (if she's really thirsty she'll take it) and thern big hugs & put her back in her cot?

Going to be a few squeals but this is as much about getting her to stay in her cot as feeding I suspect?

Give her a good stodgy late supper & hopefully she'll sleep a little longer!
