My dd (15 months) bf at night and morning. I was away for one night yesterday and so missed 2 feeds and now she won't feed tonight - she just bites me and pushes me away. Any tips? Help!

Kellymom has lots of good info on nursing strikes here.

But, mostly don't panic or stress over the strike, if you try to force her to nurse (as opposed to provide her with opportunities to nurse if she wants) it will probably reinforce the strike rather than break it. Strikes can last for 2 weeks or more (not always though - she may be back to nursing tomorrow with no problems) so patience is necessary when dealing with a striking baby/toddler (you can rant to OH or friends or MN if neededGrin).

Thanks Truthsweet - she's back on board :-) I managed to catch her last night when she was dozing off and she went for it!

My 8 weeks old baby refuses to nurse when alert ? have to rock him to sleep and then to feed him AFTER naps. He does not want breast before naps ( occasionally will nurse before the nap, but it is very rare). Before each nap he cries to show that he is ready for nap and I will intuitively offer breast ? he will refuse and then I have to rock him to sleep. Do not know whether it is nursing strike and whether I can change it to nurse him before nap so that he does not cry?please help with ideas.

Hi musicmusic... I just want to let you know I am having a similar problem with my 11 week old. Unfortunately I don't have the answers for you, but thought it might make you feel better knowing you're not the only one... It's pretty heart breaking hey!!
The only thing I can think is to take him into a dark room, that's quiet and has no distractions... It occasionally works for me!!
Good Luck
