Annoyed and Surprised

that Manchester Airport doesn't have a feeding room. As it is such a large airport, with so many passengers, felt sure it would! Should just have whipped them out and got on with it in the terminal, but as was sandwiched between two tables of elderly plane spotters, came home instead (we don't live far and had just taken ds2 to watch the planes)
What made me was on those touch screen info things under babies and children/feeding it said "All restaurent and cafe facilities are happy to heat up bottles, and most sell food"! Can I really be the only breastfeeder to have ever gone there and needed to feed??!!
Anyone else been surprised at the lack of facilities somewhere?

I'm in Manchester airport about 20 times a year, but haven't noticed this.Mind you,I just get (or rather got) them out anywhere.
There is a children's playroom you could sit in. I think we go from Terminal 2 usually.

Ah, we were in T1. Usually feed anywhere, after all will never see these people again, but sometimes worried about people's comments. I know, I'm a chicken!

Oh balls to 'em.
The amount of people that care one way or another,or even notice what you're doing for that matter is negligible.

threelittlebabies · 20/01/2006 23:33

I know you're right. Sadly it is the people that I do know that make me feel like I am doing something wrong! Would you believe it. I take no ntoice of THEM, btw

Feel sorry for them.
It's that or murder.

Auntymandy · 20/01/2006 23:40

Never looked for feeding rooms myself. Just fed my babies wherever and whenever they wanted it!
bit am suprised yes

threelittlebabies · 20/01/2006 23:43

Yep! And I would NEVER not feed a hungry dd. Went to my aunty's when dd was 2mo, said "is it ok if I feed her" and she said "yes...oh doesn't she have any bottles? What not even one?!" As though this was a crime!! My mum, whilst generally supportive, also has said "Ooh I never thought you would feed in public" because she knows I am self conscious about the size of my boobs. Thanks Mum, makes me feel a whole lot better!

I really wouldn't even be asking if you can feed her tbh.Puts you in a vulnerable position to start with.
Never fret tlb.You can talk of b/feeding as much as you like on here.
Some (quite a lot actually) of us never tire of it.

threelittlebabies · 20/01/2006 23:54

Thanks Moondog, I appreciate the encouragement! Look at the time, will I never learn and go to bed??!

Me too.
The hours I fritter on this (sigh).
Ah well,I don't watch tv though.
Speak to you soon.

You still here tlb? has your dd started putting on weight again yet?

threelittlebabies · 21/01/2006 00:06

Yep still here really must go! DDn put on 10oz last week- woo hoo! Made me feel much better in my ability to feed. Having to stick to 2hrly feeds atm though, feels like I can see a difference if I let it slip a bit, she's more agitated etc. How's it going for you?

OP posts:
Cabe · 21/01/2006 00:10

ds put on 7 oz. I'm very impressed with you though - I have to wake the little man up for a feed at night. He's more lively now and needs less sleep in the day - I on the other hand am knackered!

Cabe · 21/01/2006 00:11

Nighty night tlb

threelittlebabies · 21/01/2006 00:14

well done cabe! dd does wake often for her dummy though, an is all over the place with daytime sleeps. Talk to you soon, goodnight!
