Petition to train midwives in diagnosing and treating tongue tie

Hi all. Some of you may know I've posted on here and in AIBU about our problems with DS's TT before now and how frustrating the whole experience has been...resulting in DS( now 15 weeks) not being able to breastfeed. If only it had been picked up earlier and then treated in a reasonable amount of timet things may have been very different.
Anyway, have found a petition requesting that MWs be trained in diagnosing and treating TT so fewer people have to go through this in future. It would be very much appreciated if you could take the time to sign. Thanks all and good luck.

Done.
Our ds was tt and the health visitor, Gp and even bf specialist saw it but advised 1)it would snap itself 2)it was unnecessary to put a baby through a snip of the tt 3)that formula was a viable alternative (the GP). Ds had lost weight and the bf was daily agony for me until at 6 wks I called the NCT who advised of Jenny Sutherland in Sutton Coldfield hospital who snipped the tt and our ds fed for a further 14 mths successfully. There is no excuse to not help women better, call the NCT and they will help you get the help needed.

Signed. DS1 had his done aged 6 at the beginning of this year. He had terrible gut problems which disappeared as soon as he had it snipped.

I can't help but feel that it could so easily have been prevented had this been picked up when he was a baby.
