I hate Little Britain rant

I took my 8 mo to visit my friend with a new born yesterday and had to endure several comments of 'bitty' from the new mum when I fed DS. Now, granted DS is a big boy (91st centile for height and weight) but he is just 8 mo FFS. Little Britain has a lot to answer for.

Interestingly she is breast feeding her newborn, but topping up with a bottle as she doesn't want to go down the 'demand feeding route'. I wanted to tell her that she probably ought to demand feed if she wants to BF for any length of time, but realised that (given the bitty comments) this probably wasn't her plan.

Sorry, that last para sounded a bit judgey. Didn't mean it to, just some of the things she said yesterday about me having gone down the demand feeding route (in a tone suggesting that it's a weird thing to do) got my dander up.

I wish someone on Mumsnet would come up with an appropriately cool and withering response to "bitty" comments so I could just parrot it every time I bet "bittied" by some hillarious dicksplat.

I think 'dicksplat' is fairly withering and pretty much say it all. I might adopt that! Grin

Not judgy at all given she has seen fit to comment on how you feed your baby. I really hate the way people make you feel you 'spoil' your baby if you demand feed.

My DD hates having a bottle of EBM. I've been told 'you want to put your foot down and make her have at least one bottle per day'. WTF?!

Little Britain is not at all funny. It is puerile and vacuous.
Given that she watches it, she is probably rather puerile and vacuous herself.
Therefore, you have every right to dumo her as a friend ignire her.

i use the line It works for us as a family. this works quite well but not witty however adding dicksplatt might add something
I'm think something like
some stranger " oh he likes a bit of bitty does he"
Me "it works for us as a family... you dicksplat" Love that word silentboob thanks

I find the stare and say nothing response usually makes people feel uncomfortable. I think when people say these things they do know they are being a bit offensive but the tension is normally resolved when the attacked party then justifies their actions in a flustered, embarassed kind of way. That's what these kind of people expect, anyway.

Just looking at them, and saying nothing very often turns them into the flustered party who starts drivelling. Look them straight in the eye and don't say a word or change the subject.

Works for a number of situations Grin

Maybe you could add a Hmm to fishy's stare as well.
