How much milk/food is too much? Can you overfeed?

Bit worried.

DD is 7 months old. was ebf for 3 months, still bf twice a day, but also taking formula from abottle as I work a 50 hour week, so not choice really.

The food/milk intake today was like this:

9am - one bowl of puree (Ella's kitchen sachet) and 2 oz of milk
12.30 - one bowl of puree & 2oz of milk
1.15 - 6oz milk
4.15 - one bowl of puree and 2oz of milk
7pm - 9oz milk
9pm - 9oz milk
midnight 9 oz milk
3am 9 oz milk
6am 6oz milk

tracking on 50th centile always. very lively baby....does not stop moving all day, never still....ever.

She fed every 2 hours from birth, never went any longer between feeds when I breastfed her.

I still feed her a couple of times in the day myself if she needs it too.

I am worried at the massive amount of milk she is taking. I have tried water, rocking her back to sleep etc, but she is waking because she is hungry, not just for comfort.

Please help!

Please excuse my terrible spelling also. This was based on yesterdays feeding.

TIA x

what sort of purees are you giving? Sounds like you need to get more protein and carbs in to her to keep her fuller for longer. Do you give any finger foods?

I went to a weaning talk by my HV on Wednesday and she said that it is impossible to overfeed a child under 2, because they don't understand "greedy". My DS's milk intake went up massively, despite beginning to wean, when he was about 7 months old as he was moving loads more. he is now 3.4 and lean. If your DD is tracking nicely along the 50th centile, then I really wouldn't worry.

If you over feed bubs the worst that will happen is they chuck up (which every baby will do at least once a week anyway) deffently does sound as thou the puree isnt filling bub up as much as it should... A lil tip my mum gave me is when you cook veggies for dinner put a bit aside and puree it up urself in a blender then freeze it in a ice tray n tip the cubes into freezer bags n feed bub that just defrost however much you need each day not only is it cheap and convienent but its fresh vegies which is very healthy and has heaps of nutrients, alot better then the baby food you buy which not only has a number of ingriedents u cant even say seems to keep getting recalled for hsving peices of glass in it!!
