dream feeding - do you pick dc up for it?

Hi, I wonder if those of you who dream feed their babies pick them up from their basket / cot or if you leave them lying in there while giving them a bottle Hmm. Find the latter a bit weird but wonder if it would disturb dd too much if I pick her up for it? I've only dream fed her a couple of times and picked her up for it and she seemed to have trouble settling back to sleep again straight away. But I want to start introducing a proper bedtime routine with a set time and want to try and dream feed her at 11pmish (when I go to bed myself). Would like to hear how you do it.

I breastfeed so had to pick them up. They hardly woke up and it didn't seem to disturb them. They just seem to feed on autopilot!

Same as Jojay.

I bf but introduced a bottle for dream feeding and I always picked dd up, she never started rousing for it until she was 4mo but was still fairly quick to settle as long as she had been winded, which I done while she was sleeping ( used to rock her back and fourth in my lap then patted back a few times) if she only took a few oz I would give her a bum change to wake her a bit more to take the rest. one of my mates gives he Ds his bedtime bottle when he's laying down in his cot and he's fine with it so I gues what u feel better doing.

Thank you all. I'll see what works best for her.

Same as jojay. It still amazes me how DD can latch on in her sleep.

I do envy you breastfeeding ladies. I found it hard enough to latch my girls on properly when they were wide awake. There was no way I could have breastfed either of them while they were half asleep :( So you have my utmost respect!

It seems to be an autopilot thing - pick sleeping baby up, baby opens mouth, put baby on boob, baby latches on, all without waking up.
Well, that's what used to happen. Now he usually demands a feed at that time!
