One bf a day...is it possible, or worth it?

hi

Dd is now 6 months old and ebf until 3 months when we added one bottle of formula a day, due to her needing to take a bottle when i go back to work.

She loves her food and this week has taken 3 pureed fruit and veg a day, with minimal milk. I have fed her if needed but she only seems to quench her thirst.

My supply has dropped right off now and it feels like it takes about 8 hours now to feel full again.

I go back to work in 6 weeks. Should I still feed for one feed a day do you think? Is it possible, or even worth it? Or should i stop now?

She takes the majority of her milk at night having a feed on me at 7 and then 3 7oz bottles of formula during the night. I dont feed her through the night.

TIA

When I went back to work I fed ds before I went, when I came back and twice in the night as I was very upset about having to stop and ds was just under 6 months. What you do is your personal decision and whatever works for you is the right one.

However I wonder if your dd is getting enough feeds during the day. Most of her food should still be milk at this point and the amount she's eating at night is huge. When you return to work a night's sleep is invaluable and it will be very hard on your current schedule . Why not try spreading those bottles through tge day and if your dd wakes up at night give a dummy or water?

I'm no expert but I think you need to increase her milk intake during the day. My DS is 6 months but weaning is very laid back, we do it BLW style, some days he will have lunch, others breakfast, sometimes dinner too, but 6 months is still very young and milk is the priority, not solids.
