Breastfeeding twins after breast cancer treatment

Hello

I am posting in the hope someone has any positive stories/tips for me?

4 years ago I had treatment for breast cancer: chemo, lumpectomy, radiotherapy.

My affected breast had not gone through the usual changes during my pregnancy, but I knowthat in theory thus does not rule out b/f, even though its highly likely there will be reduced supply.

I havd done lots if research and read books and will seek the help of a bfcounsellor when the babies are born, but in the meantime I would love to hear from anyone who's been there?

Thanks!

Not been there but I just wanted to say (my advice for anyone who is pregnant) is to go to a bf support group before your babies are born. Its scary and complicated to get a newborn (doubly I imagine for twins!) out of the house at a certain time to place you've never been. Much easier to approach a known face when you could be feeling a bit vulnerable. I wish I'd done it before mine was born as someone advised me but I was worried feeling an idiot with no actual baby, then when I started to go there were loads of pregnant women at meetings.

La Leche were brill and do special meetings for twin mothers.

I second going to BF cafe's etc now, maybe book a consultation with a lactation specialist or whatever their proper name is if the local support isn't to your cup of tea?
