Switching from milk in a bottle to milk in a beaker

I have a 13month old dd who still refuses milk from a beaker. She will drink water and juice from her beaker (single hole Boots beaker), but the minute she tastes milk from this beaker she puts up a fight and refuses it.

The trouble is she is a fussy eater so I rely on the milk going down. She has 2 7oz bottles a day and one 5oz bottle in the afternoon. I've tried various beakers, ones that are clear so that she sees its milk - but what do I do? I'm always weak and end up giving her the bottle when the beaker is refused.

Any suggestions anyone?

What's wrong with having milk from a bottle? If that's the only way she'll have milk, then I wouldn't fight it. It won't last forever.......
Maybe you could try milk with a bendy straw, or choc milk ?? Good luck
my dd still has her milk in a bottle before bed ( she is 2) and has it from cups throughout the day.

I still use a mixture for dd aged 2. Wouldn't force it at 13 months, surely it is better they get nutritional value of milk, especially if they become otherwise picky.

My daughter's also 13 months and there's no way yet I could rely on her drinking enough milk from a beaker alone. I think the thing is that bottles and teats are supposed to cause some tooth decay but if you're careful about tooth brushing and never let her sleep sucking on a bottle there should be no problem waiting until she's ready. My daughter's v. fussy too!

Well as she only has 3 teeth, then I suppose there's no real concern yet over the decay on teeth issue. I suppose I just wish it were easier - I've found that everything I try that's different from birth is a nightmare and wish one thing would be easy for a change!

I guess it doesn't help when other friends babies are drinking milk from beakers. I'm just not sure whether to try every other day or leave it for a week or a month or what.

But thanks all for your words of reassurance - helps to know I'm not the only one out there!
